EthSwitch, the inter-bank interaction service provider in Ethiopia, announced that there have been 5.4 million interbank transactions in January 2022, with 5.8 billion birr value.
Since 2016, EthSwitch, a share company in which all banks in Ethiopia have a stake, has enabled the interoperability of ATMs and POS terminals operated by all banks in Ethiopia.
Established in 2011, EthSwitch's stated main aim is to provide an e-payment infrastructure that is simple, affordable, secure and efficient.
