Ethiopian Airlines announced it has transported over 110 million flower stems to various destinations across the globe for Valentine's Day celebrations. The flower stems have been transported over two weeks and 86 flights, the carrier said.
In addition to transporting Ethiopia-produced flowers to various destinations, Ethiopian said it has also transported flowers from Kenya, Ecuador, Colombia and the US (Miami) to various European countries.
The number has shown an increase of over 15 million compared to the same season last year, during which Ethiopian transported some 95 million flower stems.
Ethiopian Airlines had earlier said it had readied modern refrigerated cargo planes for transporting flowers for the Valentine's Day celebrations.
