Ethiopia's Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration said fuel prices remain unchanged until March 9, 2022. Despite a surge of global fuel prices, the Ministry noted, it has been decided not to raise the local tariff in consideration of current economic and social situations.
The Ministry has also issued a warning to companies and fuel stations that said are creating an artificial sense of fuel shortage.
Ethiopian Petroleum Supply Enterprise (EPSE), for its part, has said there is no fuel shortage in Ethiopia. The rumors of fuel shortage are unfounded, Tadesse HaileMariam, EPSE's CEO reassured. He said an average of 2.7 to 3 million of liters of fuel are distributed for use every day.
