Addis Ababa Water and Sewerage Authority (AAWSA) signed a $490,000 project agreement with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) aimed at strengthening AAWSA's capacity to reduce water dispensation without revenue generation.
To be implemented at the Nifas Silk and Mekanisa branch offices of the Authority, the project will also help address water leakage and other problems related to water distribution.
Over 51,000 cutomers of AAWSA stand to benefit from project, it was related.
JICA will cover all costs related to the project, which has a lifetime of four years, it was learned.
