Dagmawit Moges, Ethiopia's Minister of Transport and Logistics, announced that Ethiopia is finalizing a new Road Safety and Insurance Fund Service Regulation. The regulation allocates at least 5 percent of road fund fee to Post-crash emergency medical services, she noted.
In a tweet, Ms. Dagmawit added that her Ministry will "enhance the engagement of the private sector to source additional finance for road safety". She made the announcement while attending the Road Safety High Level Supporting Event organized by the UN's President of the 76th General Assembly, Abdulla Shahid.
For Africa and for the rest of the world, Ms. Dagmawit noted, prividing considerable focus to road safety is "not an option, rather is a priority," also noting it "is not expenditure but rather a critical investment [for] Ethiopia."
