Ethiopian Airlines has been awarded as "The Best Airline in Africa" for the fourth year in a row, "The Best Business Class Airline in Africa" for the third year in a row, "The Best Economy Class Airline in Africa" for the third year in a row, and "The Best Cabin Crew in Africa" in the SKYTRAX World Airline Awards 2021.
Ethiopian Airlines has ranked 37th among the top 100 carriers in the world. Ethiopian had a standing of 44th during SKYTRAX's 2019 rankings. South African Airways and Kenya Airways came in second and third best carriers in Africa.
Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, and ANA All Nippon Airways have been chosen as the top three carriers in the world.
The world's best airline alliance has been chosen to be Oneworld Alliance, while Star Alliance, of which Ethiopian is a member, stood second, followed by SkyTeam Alliance.
The 2021 Awards are based on a much-extended customer survey period from September 2019 to July 2021, representing a mix of normal travel times combined with travel during the global pandemic.
The World Airline Awards began in 1999 when SKYTRAX launched its first global, annual airline customer satisfaction survey.
