Chinese telecom giant Huawei announced winners of the Sixth Global ICT Competition in Ethiopia it funded. Conducted with the theme "Connection, Glory, Future," over a thousand participants from all over Ethiopia have taken part in the competition.
"The competition is a unique opportunity for students to test their abilities in these cutting-edge fields, and helps colleges and universities to better understand the talent requirements of today's top businesses and government leaders," Chen Mingliang, CEO of Huawei Ethiopia, remarked.
The CEO noted that the competition has been a platform to showcase Ethiopia's commitment to cultivating its ICT talent ecosystem.
Twenty top performers competed for the six outstanding groups, from seven universities. The winners will be given a chance to participate in the Regional Final and Global Final 2022 forming Ethiopia's national teams in the competitions, it was learned.
Huawei's Sixth Global ICT Competition in Ethiopia was launched in May this year.
