The American multinational food, snack and beverage corporation PepsiCo Inc. has expressed interest to invest in Ethiopia. Shiferaw Teklemariam (Ph.D.), Ethiopia's Ambassador to South Africa, has held a discussion with senior management of PepsiCo's African branch.
PepsiCo's senior management have told the ambassador that they consider Ethiopia strategic for their investment and products, especially in edible oil and juice processing. Ambassador Shiferaw, reassuring them that the Ethiopian government will provide "full support" for investments PepsiCo is considering in Ethiopia, has further emphasized that Ethiopia gives "due attention" to the agro-processing industry.
PepsiCo's senior management has accepted Ambassador Shiferaw's invitation to visit Ethiopia and assess the conducive investment climate for themselves.
