Ethiopian Ministry of Revenues announced it has collected $534.2 million (18.35 billion birr) during the month of May 2020.

The amount stands at 77 percent of what the Ministry targeted for the month, which was 23.6 billion birr. However, the collected revenue has shown an increase of 3.8 billion birr compared to the same month last year.

Out of the total amount collected, domestic taxes accounted for 10.4 billion birr, while customs duties amounted to 8 billion birr.

During the past eleven months of this Ethiopian fiscal year, the Ministry of Revenues has collected over 217 billion birr, which is more than 89 percent of the target it set for the year.
