Ethiopian Coffee Exhibition Held in Jerusalem

Ethiopian coffee exhibition, along with a culinary diplomacy event, has been held in Jerusalem, at Empress Taitu Memorial Building. The event, which aimed to promote Ethiopian coffee in Israel has been organized by the Ethiopian Embassy in Israel.

Officials from the Israeli Foreign Affairs and Tourism Ministries, the Mayor of Jerusalem, members of the diplomatic community in Israel, members of the Ethiopia Friendship Association, and other guests have attended the exhibition. Importers of Ethiopian Coffee and Ethiopian cultural restaurants have taken part in the exhibition.

 

Reta Alemu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Special Envoy of Ethiopia to Israel, speaking during the event, said the exhibition is mainly aimed at promoting unique features of Ethiopian Coffee to the world. He went on to say the event also serves to help Ethiopian cultural restaurants get recognition in Israel.

The event has previously been scheduled to be held much earlier, but had to be postponed due to restriction movements COVID-19 entailed in Israel, the Ambassador noted.

The Ethiopian diplomatic corps tabled presentations showing unique features of the Ethiopian coffee ceremony and related cultural events, during which they showed how the ceremony is an integral part of Ethiopia's social and cultural life.
