23 Million Tons of Granite Deposit Found in Ethiopia

Ethiopia's Amhara region disclosed that a granite deposit amounting to over 23 million tons has been discovered in three districts of the East Gojam zone.

The region's mines development and promotion agency explained that the granite deposit was found in Baso Liben, Gozamin, and Debre Elias districts.

A common type of felsic intrusive igneous rock, granite is used in buildings, bridges, paving, monuments, and many other exterior projects, due to its granular and phaneritic texture.
