Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said his government is "committed" to bringing ongoing projects to completion despite the coronavirus pandemic. In a tweet, PM Abiy highlighted raising the productivity of various sectors, increasing foreign currency reserves, as well as maintaining ongoing efforts for debt cancellation and restructuring.

The Prime Minister made the statement after Ethiopia's national macroeconomic committee, which he chairs, met on Saturday to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on the economy, budgetary preparations for the next fiscal year as well as evaluate this Ethiopian fiscal year’s economic performance.
