Djibouti Announces Massive Port Tariff Cut to Ethiopia's Exports

Djibouti declared it is to cut port tariffs by 82.5 percent for Ethiopia's exports due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, in a tweet, expressed "profound gratitude" to Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh. The gesture at this critical time stands "testimony to countering the effects of COVID-19 through collective leadership," PM Abiy noted.

About 95 percent of all inbound trade of Ethiopia passes through the Port of Djibouti.
