A delegation of Private Investors for Africa (PIA) expressed their "keen" interest to invest in Ethiopia. The delegation is on a two-day business tour in Ethiopia and has held talks with Aklilu Hailemichael (Ph.D.), Ethiopia's State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During their meeting, Dr. Aklilu briefed the team on the economic advantages of investing in Ethiopia, pointing out the huge market access and available infrastructure including the transboundary railway, coupled with economical expenditure on labor and electricity.

He also explained the Ethiopian government’s efforts to modernize trade and investment dealings and processes in Ethiopia.

The PIA delegates commended the warm welcome they have received in their two-day visit in Ethiopia and told the state minister that they are motivated to invest more in Ethiopia.

Heineken and Syngenta are among the members of PIA that are currently investing in Ethiopia.

The Private Investors for Africa (PIA) is a business coalition that was founded in 2001 aiming to bring together companies to invest in Africa.
