Ethiopia Collects $407 Mn from Coffee Exports in 7 Months

Ethiopia has collected $407 million in the past seven months from coffee export, the Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority declared.

Adugna Debela (PH.D.), Director-General of the authority, said the amount has been collected from the export of 150,000 tons of coffee in the period.

Although the export volume has seen rise, the revenue generated is less than what has been a decade ago, Dr. Adugna said, which he attributed to lowering of the price.

Ethiopian coffee production is expected to rise to 7.35 million tons in 2020, with a 1.4 percent increase from the 2018/19 season.
