Five Dutch Horticulture Companies to Invest in Ethiopia

Five Dutch companies are set to engage in horticulture development on 500 hectares of land in Ethiopia's Amhara region at an area called Kunzila. The investment and related supports that come with it, it was learned, will be of benefit for 10,000 residents of the area.

Dutch Ambassador Bengt van Loosdrecht held a discussion with Temesgen Tiruneh, Chief Administrator of the Amhara region, after which the announcement of the Dutch investors was made. The Ambassador further noted a "fruitful discussion" has been held with residents of the area regarding the benefits of the investment.

Ambassador Bengt van Loosdrecht also pledged to provide €20 million in support to improve the livelihoods of residents of the area, which will be used to build schools and sporting facilities, among other things.
