Ethiopia to Host International Textile Machinery Exhibition

Titme-africahe first African edition of International Textile Machinery Exhibition (ITME) will take place 14th to 16th February, 2020, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the organizer announced.

The organizer of the event, the India ITME Society, an apex non-profit industry body in India, joins hands with the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (ECCSA) in to co-organize the event. ‘ITME AFRICA 2020’ is said to be set to act as a catalyst and be a pivot for eco-development, employment generation, thus heralding prosperity Africa. While doing so, the event hopes to bring multiple growth effects, in addition to the textile industry, to the airlines, hotel, transport, tourism and others.

Ethiopia has been selected to host the first edition of the event due to its unique position as the seat of the African Union, and also for being one of the major countries in Africa with growing textile industry. ITME-Africa is expected to showcase complete range of textile and textile engineering developments, with a total of 27 chapters. The event shall cover four broad categories: textile, textile engineering, financial institutions, and allied segment.

The International Textile Machinery Exhibition will “become the focal point and catalyst for economic growth, employment generation and technology up-gradation in Ethiopia and other countries in Africa,” according to the organizer. The exhibition shall offer sourcing solution, joint venture and investment opportunity not only to Ethiopia, but to all of Africa.
