Ethiopia - Korea Business Forum, aimed at promoting investments in Ethiopia opened in Seoul, South Korea today. Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, who is on an official visit to South Korea, delivered the opening remarks of the business forum.

In his remark, PM Abiy shared various activities being undertaken by his administration to create a conducive business environment for investments to thrive. Noting the historical relations between the two countries, he called upon South Korean businesses to join Ethiopia’s journey to prosperity.

The Prime Minister also met with the leadership of the automaker Hyundai, to discuss the potential expansion of investments in Ethiopia. Furthermore, he had discussions with the leadership of POSCO, the steel-making giant, to explore the possibility of setting up steel-works in Ethiopia to meet the current domestic demand in construction, as well as to enable job creation, the Office of the Prime Minister said in a tweet.
