Japanese Business Delegation Holds Talks with Ethiopian State Minister of Foreign Affairs

Japanese business delegation led by Nobuhiko Sasaki, Chairman of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), held talks with Markos Tekle (Ph.D.), Ethiopia's State Minister of Foreign Affairs. On the occasion, Dr. Markos called on Japanese investors to "take advantage of" Ethiopia's favorable investment climate.

Assuring the delegation of Ethiopia’s commitment to provide all needed support for investors coming to invest in the horn of African country, the State Minister said Ethiopia is preparing to promote its investment opportunities and attract more investment by taking part in the 7th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 7), scheduled to take place from 28th to 30th August 2019.

Nobuhiko Sasaki, applauding the reforms in Ethiopia, noted that Japanese investors are currently engaged in various investment areas in Ethiopia. He also remarked more Japanese investors are keen to invest in Ethiopia, aiming to help in the process Ethiopia's drive towards industrialization.

Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) is a non-profit organization that provides business support services to companies expanding to Japan. JETRO opened its office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in July 2016, with the goal of promoting business exchange between the two countries in various aspects.
