Isuzu Motors, the well-known Japanese vehicles manufacturer, said it will open an assembly plant in Ethiopia in August 2019.
Taro Kunifusa, Isuzu’s General Manger, announced the plan during a talk he held Kassa Tekleberhan, Ethiopia’s ambassador to Japan.
“We want to engage in other investment sectors to take advantage of Ethiopia huge market potential. We have finalized preparations to open a vehicle assembly plant in August 2019,” Mr. Kunifusa said.
Ambassador Kassa expressed his government’s commitment to support the company in its effort to set the plant. He further briefed Isuzu’s officials on the investment opportunities Ethiopia has to offer.
A familiar brand in the Ethiopian market, Isuzu Motors is especially globally renowned for its trucks.
