NEC Corporation, a Japanese multinational provider of IT services and products, has expressed its interest to enter Ethiopia’s telecom and information technology market, Ethiopian Investment Commission disclosed.

Kassa Tekleberhan, Ambassador of Ethiopia to Japan, held talks with Mr. Toshiya Matsuki, Executive Vice President at the Corporation.

During the discussion, the Corporation commended Ethiopia’s plan to fully and partially privatize state-owned enterprises as well as expressed its demand to boost its presence in Ethiopia’s telecom and information technology market.

While Ambassador Kassa visited the Corporation’s showroom recently, he encouraged the company to invest more in Ethiopia.

NEC Corporation operates in 169 countries worldwide, including Ethiopia.
