Hortiflora Ethiopia, an international horticulture and floriculture trade fair, has opened in Addis Ababa. The trade fair, themed “The Future is Horticulture,” is being held at the Millennium Hall and will stay open till 15th of March, 2019.
The exhibition, which is now on its seventh edition, has over 100 national and international companies participating. It also has a goal of “promoting more exports through more production and more growers,” the organizers have disclosed. They have also noted that the interest of international companies in the fair has been “surprisingly high.”
Ethiopia’s President Sahle-Work Zewde, present at the opening ceremony, remarked that the horticulture industry is a main employer and exporter in Ethiopia despite being only fifteen years old. She also called for increased efforts to extend what has been achieved in floriculture to other sectors in horticulture.
Hortiflora Ethiopia has stated the fair will have an amazing presence of flowers, flower products, natural flowers, plastic flowers, flower packaging materials, flower delivery services, bouquets, flower gifts, flower species and all related with flowers.
The fair is expected to present exhibitors with business opportunities, while presenting visitors with an array of choices that have to do with flowers for all occasions.
