Ethiopian Cargo Collects Prizes for 4th Year in a Row

Ethiopian Airlines Cargo and Logistics Services won the awards for “African Cargo Airline of the Year” and “Air Cargo Brand of the Year in Africa,” at STAT Times International Awards for Excellence in Air Cargo. Ethiopian collected the two awards for the fourth year in a row, which is since the awards started being given.

The awards were given at Air Cargo Africa conference and exhibition, which was held for the fourth time in Johannesburg, South Africa. Air Cargo Africa is organized by Messe Muenchen in partnership with STAT Media Group.

Tewolde Gebremariam, Ethiopian’s Group CEO, remarked, “We are honored to have received the ‘African Cargo Airline of the Year’ and ‘Air Cargo Brand of the Year in Africa’ awards which are testimony to the leading role Ethiopian is playing in air cargo service in Africa.”
“In line with Vision 2025, we have been investing heavily in expanding our cargo services, building the largest trans-shipment terminal in Africa with an annual capacity of about 1 million tons, and deploying 9 dedicated freighters,” the CEO explained in a subsequent press release.

Ethiopian Cargo and Logistics Services is Africa’s largest cargo operator, spanning forty four international destinations across Africa, the Gulf, the Middle East, the Americas and Europe, augmenting the export of perishables from Africa and import of high value goods.

Ethiopian Cargo and Logistics Services hopes to become a full-fledged profit center of Ethiopian Airlines Group with annual revenue $2bln US dollars, 19 dedicated aircraft, annual tonnage of 820,000, and 57 international destinations by 2025.
