Ethiopia: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Establishes Four New Missions

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia announced that it had broadened its foreign missions over the already ending fiscal year focusing on business diplomacy. Four new missions were established and one embassy was relocated, the Ministry stated.

Accordingly, Ministry Spokesperson Meles Alem said new Consulate Generals, which are aimed to spur Ethiopian market in Netherlands and in Turkey, were opened at The Hague and Istanbul while bringing to view full-fledged Embassies in Rwanda and Uganda. The spokesperson said these embassies were symbols of growing strategic partnership of Ethiopia and the East African countries. Because of the crisis in Yemen, the Ethiopian Embassy in Yemen is relocated to Oman.

The newly established embassies and consulate affairs pushed the number of Ethiopian oversees missions to 47 and 16 respectively.
