Ethiopia’s Pharmaceutical Industry Park Reaches 80% Completion Rate

Ethiopian Industrial Park Development Corporation (EIPDC) disclosed one of the industrial parks being built in Ethiopia, Kilinto Pharmaceutical Industrial Park, has reached 75 percent completion rate.

Currently Ethiopia covers around 80 percent of its medicine demand by importing. When the park went operational, it would enable the country to generate foreign currency as well as meet local demands, the Corporation noted.

The industrial park which is being constructed at an outlay of 5.5 billion Birr and over 270 hectares of land is financed by the World Bank. The construction on the other hand is being undertaken by China Tiesiju Civil Engineering Group.

As per EIPDC, the construction of the park is scheduled to be completed in 3 months time.
