Raya Brewery S.C., one of the latest entrants to the beer industry in Ethiopia, disclosed it is undertaking expansion project at an outlay of 1 billion Birr.

The project was estimated to take a year and half time, Tikabo Gebreselasie (Dr.), Corporate Director at Raya, explained. When the expansion was completed, it would boost the breweries capacity to 130 million hectoliters, from 60 million hectoliters where it stands right now, he added.

It was only 2 and half years ago that Raya started production. It currently has created more than 1,000 direct employment opportunities and 10,000 indirect jobs.
