Ethiopia’s Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC) signed a contract with China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation Ltd (CCECC) for the construction of Bahir Dar Industrial Park for a of 60 million USD.
The industrial park is going to be constructed on 75 hectares of land and it will have 8 factory shades. The construction, on the other hand, is expected to be concluded within 9 months period.
Commenting on the issue, Sisay Gemechu, Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopian Industrial Parks Development Corporation, said the park would be built to achieve the goals and strategies put at a national level. It would focus on export of value-added agricultural products, he added.
Speaking on his part, CCECC’s Director General, Allen Lee, said his company would deliver the industrial park as per the agreed time table.
When the park goes operational, it is expected to create job opportunities for more than 20,000 people.
