Bus Transport from Ethiopia to Sudan to Start

Ethiopia’s transport authority disclosed public bus transport service from Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa, to Khartoum, Sudan’s capital, has started.

The highway that stretches from Addis to Khartoum is also expected to be open for traffic on Sunday, March 12, 2017. The bus transport service is coming to effect following the completion of the road construction project which took almost 8 years. 7

The transport service is going to be in accordance to the agreements made regarding the standards of vehicles, tariffs and immigration rules of the 2 countries.

The commencement of the service is expected to further strengthen bilateral ties of the 2 countries and enhance trade, investment, tourism and social ties between the people of the 2 countries.

The tariff set for the bus transport service is 60 USD to travel from Addis to Khartoum. The trek will take 2 days and the passengers should have valid passport and visa before the start of the trip.
