Addis Ababa Saving Houses Development Enterprise (AASHDE) disclosed it will transfer more than 20,000 apartments built under the 40/60 housing scheme by the coming fiscal year.
Commenting on the matter Haile Keana, Head of AASHDE, total of 39,229 apartments are being constructed under the 40/60 housing scheme. The enterprise was planning to speed up the construction of 20,932 apartments to transfer them by the coming fiscal year, he added. These apartments were 64 percent complete, he noted.
1,292 apartments were ready to be transferred to beneficiaries through lottery, he added.
Haile attributed the weak performance of the construction of the apartment under 40/60 housing scheme to problems of structure, input supply and limitations of contractors.
The price for the apartments is scheduled to be release on March 6, 2017 by a joint press conference between Commercial Bank of Ethiopi, Ministry of Housing Development and Addis Ababa City Administration.
