Ethiopia: ICT Park Aims for 70 More Companies

Ethio-ICT Industrial Park disclosed it is preparing to increase the number of companies that operate in the park to more than 70 by July 7, 2017.

The park was inaugurated a year and 8 months ago and now there are around 20 local companies that took office space. 6 foreign companies, on the other hand, are building offices after taking possession of spaces in the park.

According to Berhane Keleta, Director General of Ethio-ICT Industrial Park, there are more than 170 companies that have submitted request to enter into the ICT park.

Around 50 of these companies would enter into the park once their performance, job creation and related plans were evaluated, the Director General explained.

New graduates would benefit a lot from the park fitted with fast internet connection, adequate power supply and other favorable infrastructures, Berhane explained.

In the aim of giving a one window and efficient service for their clients, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and ethio Telecom are building offices in the park.

The second phase construction of the park is underway and it is expected to be completed in 3 three years time.
