Ethiopia and Djibouti Signed Joint Venture Agreement

The 2 Horn of Africa countries, Ethiopia and Djibouti concluded a joint venture agreement on January 11, 2017 for the establishment of a company that will manage the newly built Ethio-Djibouti Railway. The agreement was signed in Djibouti as part of the agreement signed between the 2 countries before for the establishment of a joint company.

It was Ahmed Shide, Minister of Transport, that signed the agreement on Ethiopia’s behalf while Djibouti was represented by its Minister of Transport and Finance.

During the signing ceremony, Dr Girma Amente, Ethiopia’s Minister of Public Enterprise as well as heads of Ethiopian and Djibouti railway corporations, Dr Engineer Getachew Betru and Mr Mohmoud, respectively were present.
