Following the space left by Ahmed Tusa, Yacob Yalla has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Service Enterprise (ESLSE). The enterprise was under the leadership of the Deputy CEO since earlier this month.
It was after the merger of the 3 public enterprises that Ahmed was appointed as the CEO of the now enterprise. He has obtained the position for the past 5 years. During his reign, he expanded the multi modal system and the dry port system in Ethiopia.
Commenting on the development, Deputy CEO of the freight forwarding division, Mesfin Tefera, explained all f4 deputies sat down with the newly appointed CEO and discussed the future direction of the enterprise.
We welcomed his appointment and looked forward to working with him, Mesfin added.
In 2015 Yacob was appointed as Minister of Trade. However, he lost that position during the recent cabinet reshuffle when he was replaced by Dr. Bekele Bulado.
In related development, Ahmed Shide, the new Minister of Transport, is appointed as Bopard Chairman of ESLSE.
ESLSE is a public enterprise which has monopoly right on transit and shipping to Ethiopia. It currently has total destinations of 24.
