Ethiopia: GIZ to Give Trainings for Industrial Park Employees

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) commenced a new training program for people who will be hired at Hawassa Industrial Park. The training is funded by the German government and it is part of the 27 million Euro program.

The program will first target 120 trainees who have already went through prior training from the institute. It is these trainees that will transfer their knowledge to workers within Hawassa Industrial Park.

The training is said to have its focal point on textile training and industrial parks. According to Fortune, the program is expected to be executed in cooperation with Hawassa Industrial Park Association and the Ethiopian Textile Industry Development Institute (ETIDI).

Hawassa Industrial Park was built at an outlay of 250 million USD and inaugurated in July 2016. It has a capacity of absorbing 50,000 employees.
