Hailemariam Desallegn, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, has appointed Getahun Nana as the new president to Development Bank of Ethiopia (DBE).

Getahun, before his new appointment, was serving as vice governor of National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) = a position he held for the past 7 years. The appointment has been effective since November 30, 2016.

The appointment came after Esayas Bahre was dismissed from his position of leading the bank. Esayas was dismissed by a letter from Sintayehu Woldemichael, Director of Public Financial Institutions Supervision Agency.
