Federal Manufacturing Industry Development Agency (FMIDA) disclosed it has prepared 7 billion Birr to be dispersed as loan for more than 17,000 enterprises this fiscal year. The enterprises are said to be engaged in manufacturing sector of Ethiopia’s economy.

According to Acting Director General of the Agency, Asfaw Abebe, the enterprises will also be provided with production places.

The enterprises that are expected to create job opportunities for 500,000 people are said to benefit mainly women and university graduates by the loan, the Acting Director General noted.

In the coming 4 years the Agency intended to create 62,000 and 10,000 small and medium manufacturing industries respectively, Asfaw explained.
