Southern Nations Nationalities and Peoples’ State (SNNP) Culture and Tourism Bureau disclosed the state has been visited by more than 1 million tourists from abroad as well as Ethiopia in the just concluded fiscal year.

According to the Bureau’s Senior Head of Tourist Attractions Research, Conservation and Development, the tourists visited the State’s cultural, natural as well as historical sites. He noted that out of the entire visitors 239,800 of them were foreigners.

The figure shows the flow of tourists has increased by over 34,000 when compared to 2014/2015 fiscal year.

From the tourists that visited, the State secured nearly 298 million Birr which shows an increment of 37.4 million Birr.
