Ethiopia and Mozambique Signed Cooperation Agreements

Ethiopia concluded various cooperation agreements with Mozambique on June 29, 2016. The agreements were signed by Ethiopia’s Prime Minister, Hailemariam Desalegn, and President of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi before having bilateral talks.

Among other sectors the agreements are for cooperation in the areas of civil aviation, agriculture, livestock and natural resource development, military training, science and technology, transport and communication as well as culture and tourism.

The 2 countries have also agreed to establish a Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC).

According to Taye Atskeselassie, Ethiopia’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, apart from signing the agreements, the 2 leaders also discussed on ways to further strengthen trade and investment among the 2 African countries.

Hailemariam is on a 3 days state visit to Mozambique. He reached the capital Maputo on June 29, 2016.
