Ethiopia: Engine Manufacturing Plant in Tigray to Launch Trial Production

Engine manufacturing plant found in Tigray State of Ethiopia is said to launch trial production of engines. Such was disclosed by Major Assefa Yohannes, General Manager of the Ethiopian Power Engineering Industry.

The manufacturing plant found in the capital of Tigray State, Mekelle, has the capacity to manufacture light, medium as well as heavy engines.

Commenting on the development the General Manager said the engine plant was designed to supply 20,000 different types of engines locally and internationally. The engines would offer alternative source of power, he added.

The plant, other than manufacturing engines, it will also repair old engines, manufacture light generators and water pumps. In addition to these, the plant will in the near future start manufacturing radiators and also intend to produce jet aircraft engines.
