The visit is aimed to boost trade relations between the UK and Ethiopia. In addition to this, it also aims to strengthen the businesses knowledge of the many and growing commercial opportunities in Ethiopia.

The envoy is said to meet with Deputy Prime Minister Debretsion Gebremichael and Minister from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Finance, Water, Irrigation and Electricity.

In addition to this they will meet with Ethiopian and international businesses in the aim of building foundations for future commercial activities.

Commenting on the development, Richard Benyon said; “I am delighted to have been appointed UK Trade Envoy to
Ethiopia. I am excited to be here and see firsthand the opportunities Ethiopia offers for UK businesses. I look forward to building a lasting trade relationship with Ethiopia that brings benefits to both our countries.”
