Ethiopia: Construction Agreement for Industrial Parks Signed

2 Chinese construction firms signed agreements with Ethiopian Industrial Parks Development Corporation (EIPDC) for the construction of industrial parks in Ethiopia. As per the agreement the construction companies, China Civil Engineering Construction Cooperation (CCECC) and China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), will be building industrial parks at Meklle and Kombolcha cities at an outlay of 250 million USD.

The entire 250 million USD is going to be covered by the Ethiopian Government, Fana Broadcasting Corporate reported.

According to Sisay Gemechu, CEO of EIPDC, MH Engineering is the consultant for the construction projects.

The agreement dictates the construction of the parks is scheduled to be completed in 6 months time. Upon completion, the industrial parks are said to create 50,000 job opportunities.

Both Kombolcha and Mekelle industrial parks will lay on 75 hectares of land and they will both have 30 factory sheds.
