In the 9 months of the current fiscal year, Ethiopia purchased goods and services worth 15 billion Birr from local and foreign suppliers.
One of the largest procurements were facilitated by Public Procurement and Property Disposal Service (PPPDS) and it was made for 2 billion Birr. The procurement is a 3 years contract signed with 48 companies for office supplies.
PPPDS also purchased 155 vehicles at an outlay of 1.2 billion Birr for federal budgetary offices. In addition to this, the government institution concluded a 2 billion Birr agreement for the construction of buildings.
Following the drought in Ethiopia, PPPDS has also made purchase of 1.7 million tons of wheat for 8.8 billion Birr.
According to fortune, PPPDS earned a total of 104.7 million Birr from disposing scrap metals, other materials and the sale of vehicles.
