Ethiopia announced the rental fee it will ask for sheds in the Hawassa Industrial Park.

According to Fana Broadcasting Corporate for the first 4 years the rental fee is going to be 2 USD per square meter. From the 5th to the 7th year and from the 8th year to the 10th year, the rental rate is set to be 2.5 USD and 2.75 USD per square meter respectively. For the next 5 years following the 10th year, the rental fee for a square meter will be 3 USD.

As per this rates the rental fees are expected to generate 29.76 million USD every year in the first 4 years. For the following period, 5 – 7 years, the government will earn 57.66 million USD.

In addition to this, companies that invest in the industrial park and export their products are expected to generate 1 billion USD for the country.

Hawassa Industrial Park is built over 130 hectares of land and it is expected to go operational within 2 months.
