Ethiopia and Russia agreed to work more on boosting their investment as well as trade relation, Tedros Adhanom, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, said. The Minister made the remark after holding a meeting with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov.
Regular political talks would be maintained in order to maintain relations on a regular basis, Tedros noted. Tedros added that he had talks with Lavrov on trade and investment between the 2 countries. "They are not at the level that we would want to see. We agreed to work more in this sphere. We expect our relations in the sphere of trade to strengthen and that we will receive more investment from Russia," he noted.
"Education, science, technology are also important. We need more support from Russia," Tedros said. He also appreciated Russia’s support regarding peace in the Horn of Africa and the region fight to terrorism. "We hope that it will continue to be like that," he concluded.
