Turkish Company Keen to Invest in Ethiopia’s Telecom Industry

Visor, a Turkish company, expressed its wish to engage in Ethiopia’s telecom industry. The Turkish company aims to join the sector at a cost of 3 billion USD.

Visor’s CEO, Gokhan Arasli, led a delegation team that held discussions with President Mulatu Teshome on April 6, 2016. During the meeting the CEO expressed his company’s desire to engage in Ethiopia’s telecom industry by investing 3 billion USD.

Arasil also explained Visor will hold discussions with Ethio Telecom in the near future.

Mulatu on his part said the five year plan of Ethiopia aimed to broadly attract local and foreign direct investment (FDI) particularly in the manufacturing sector. Thus, Visor will be at advantage if it engages in manufacturing sector, he added.Nonetheless, the company can choose what it believes to be gainful as there are abundant investment alternatives in Ethiopia, Mulatu noted.

According to Fana Broadcasting Corporate, Visor is known for investing in construction, agro-processing and telecom sectors in 24 countries, including Italy, Russia, China, Haiti and Jamaica.
