Ethiopia’s Capital Collected 15.4 Billion Birr

Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa, collected 15.4 billion Birr in the previous months of the current fiscal year. According to Addis Ababa Finance and Economic Development Bureau, the city’s revenue has been increasing on yearly basis.

Foeno Fona, Head of the Bureau, said the achievements were attributable to concrete measures taken to improve the tax system and other related matters; the city’s income is showing sustainable increment.

The Bureau’s performance regarding direct and indirect tax has increased in 22 percent while non tax income shows 36 percent increment. Income generated from municipality services had also grown by 30 percent, he underscored.

He added the target of the Bureau was to collect 31.8 billion Birr for the current fiscal year and it had already collected 48.4 percent of the target.
