Ethiopia’s Ministry of Trade is going to commence business registration and licensing services online.  The Ministry is taking such path in response to good governance problems witnessed in the sector.

The service will enable customers of the Ministry to get registration and licensing services from wherever they are.

The system is already being implemented in the two federal cities, Addis Ababa and Dire Dawa. The system is expected to be launched in 4 states, Tigray, Southern Nation Nationalities and Peoples, Amhara and Oromia before the end of the current fiscal year.

The Ministry has prepared an action plan to launch the system in the remaining 5 states.
