Endowment Fund for the Rehabilitation of Tigray (EFFORT) concluded a 5 billion Birr agreement with the Chinese CEC Engineering Corporation and Fengda Chemical Planning and Design for the establishment of an integrated Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin manufacturing plant in Tigray, Ethiopia.

The agreement was signed on March 25, 2016 at Sheraton Addis.

According to Fana Broadcasting Corporate, Sur Construction PLC is going to take part in the project as a subcontractor for construction of the plant, which is scheduled to be concluded in 30 months.

Upon completion, the plant is said to have the capacity to produce 60,000 tons of PVC resin and 50,000 tons of caustic soda per year.
