Ethiopia’s flag carrier, Ethiopian Airlines, announced it had begun to send its technicians to other African countries.
According to Zemen Nega, Managing Director of the Airlines’ maintenance, repair and overhaul center, the technicians will be sent to Malawi, Rwanda, Cameroon and other African countries.
Currently Ethiopian is undertaking expansion work of the center. The expansion work has now reached 77 percent completion rate. Once the expansion work is done, the center will be able to accommodate 10 aircrafts at a time and offer overhaul service for other airlines.
Zemen noted the expansion work will be completed by August. The airline planned to open overhaul centers at the countries it is sending the technicians, he furthered.
