The Federal Trade Competition and Consumer Protection Authority yesterday offered a training aimed at promoting smooth trade competition, protecting consumer’s right as well as creating awareness on trade merger, The Ethiopian Herald reported.
The training was given to producers, importers and exporters, legal practitioners as well as stakeholders on proclamation No. 813/2006 of Trade Competition and Consumer Protection.
The Authority Awareness Promotion and Legal Enforcement Deputy Director, Mr. Mulugeta Abera, stated that the Authority was working to create a competitive trade relationship between traders, protecting the rights of consumers as well as improving a conductive market channel.
The Deputy Director added that the training would open a new way to exclude unwanted illegal intermediaries impact on the legal trading system.
Mr. Derejaw Mitiku, Public Enterprises Ministry Senior Legal Practitioner, stated that the training promoted the equal market share of stakeholders and gave clear information on creating a credible relationship between producers, consumers, stakeholders as well as the government.
