The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia is to open a branch in the Capital of Sudan, Kahrtoum, Fana Broadcasting reported.

A delegation led by the Governor of the National Bank, Mr. Teklewold Atnafu, went to Sudan for two days and had discussions. Following the visit, a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Central Bank of Sudan and National Bank of Ethiopia to strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

Vice President of the Republic of Sudan, Mr. Hasabo Mohamed Abdul Rahman, stated at the signing of MoU that it was important to enhance the banking relations and to benefit the people of the two countries.

As affirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the delegation also held discussions with President Hassan Al-Bashir of Sudan.
